More About Our Family

Alan Farmer was born and raised in the Pelham/Helena, Alabama area. Growing up in this once sleepy town, he appreciates the growth and transformation that has taken place here. Shortly after graduating from Pelham High School, Alan joined the United States Marine Corps where he graduated at the top of his class from Parris Island, S.C. As a member of 3rd Force Recon Battalion (Special Forces), Alan learned how important hard work, focus, and persistence is in life. After serving his country, he pursued a career in sales management. Alan always knew he would come back home and in late 2000, that day came. Alan took the opportunity to move back to Helena where he now lives with his four children, Allison, Garrett, Alton, and Nolan and his beautiful wife, J.J.

J.J. Farmer grew up in a small farming town in Michigan. She graduated from Ferris State University in Northern Michigan with a BS Degree in Retail and Marketing. She spent most of her career in corporate retail as a buyer for companies located throughout the U.S., including the former Parisian located here in Birmingham, Alabama. J.J. may have been born in Michigan, but she has a southern girl's heart and loves living in the south. She says the climate and people here in Alabama make it the best place to live and raise a family!
